Do They Know The Man?

As promised in my prior post, here are my reactions to The Men my friends know.

RESPONSE #1
He seemed really nice from all my friend had to tell me. Thanks to the powers of Facebook I was able to do some research on him and he doesn't really appear to be my type. He is in the military but will be in my town at the beginning of March, so I might meet up with him then in a group setting. We shall see!

RESPONSE #2
She hasn't found anyone for me yet! But good response.

RESPONSE #3
She hasn't found anyone either, but I let her no that I didn't think I wanted to date anyone older than 38. That should give her plenty of room to work with.

RESPONSE #4
Again, thank to the powers of Facebook I determined that this guy wasn't for me. Plus, he lives close to two hours away.  Maybe she will find me another guy!

RESPONSE #5
She hasn't come up with a man yet either.

RESPONSE #6
This one has the most potential at this point. Facebook made me interested in him as he knows some of the same people as I do and he is really cute. I haven't met him yet, but have been invited to a party this coming Saturday that he should be at.

RESPONSE #7
Another one with good potential. I haven't seen any pictures of him, but I am planning on meeting up with Responder #7 for the National Championship Game tomorrow night and she has invited him as well.

That is it for now. There are a couple of other guy situations going on in my life, but I will wait to get to those in the days to follow.

Cry For Help Responses

So within hours of sending out my cry for help I received two responses and the following day I received a few more. Seems like I'll be set up on a few blind dates in just a matter of days. Here is a look at what my friends responded to my email and I'll let you know how I responded and what I thought of some the guys tomorrow. No, I haven't gone on dates with them all, but the powers of Facebook are great!

RESPONSE #1
I LOVE you!!!!! I will definitely be on the look out ;) age range? Any other "requirements?" Send me some must have's and can't stand's and I'll see how close I can get!!!! YAY!!!! :)

RESPONSE #2
Yes, this made me laugh. I also think sending it was a great idea.
You are gorgeous, smart and funny... And you should be picky! I'll
definitely keep you in mind if I meet any tall handsome men :)

RESPONSE #3

RESPONSE #7

Out With the Old, In With the New

2010 ended with two of my friends getting engaged around Christmas. One of them had been dating her boyfriend for over four years and the other had only been seriously dating her's for about four months (they had known each other for longer and had dated in the past). What a huge reality check for me! Here I am 30 and single while my friends are all married, engaged or in long-term relationships and another year has come and gone.

My tactics to find a man are obviously not working, so I started thinking outside the box. That is when I came up with the idea to reach out to my friends and acquaintances for their help. I started by wanting to achieve 11 blind dates in 2011, but I figured why limit myself. So I sent the following email out to get the ball rolling...

Subject: 2011 - The Year of The Man
So...this email is meant to make you laugh, but it is also my "cry" for help. All of you are married, engaged, have long term boyfriends or are older and wiser than I, so I hoping you can help me out. I am turning to you to help me find a man in 2011, since my normal tactics are just not working. Yes, I am picky, but I am willing to go out with anyone once. Last year a friend of mine set me up with a guy that had a **** (my college football team's rival) tattoo and a pet turtle, I mean REALLY! However, I didn't know that (and neither did she) before my one and only date with him. So if you see a tall, handsome guy around town that isn't taken, think of me! With football season over, my weekends are free and ready to be booked up.

Thanks in advance for your help!

P.S. Definitely an added bonus if he likes ****** (the college football team I cheer for), but not everyone is perfect :)
I'll let you know what kind of responses I receive! Keep your fingers crossed.
